foto/walks
Since 2021 I have been running 'foto/walks' in partnership with 'Bridging the Gap Together', a community interest company based in Weston-super-Mare that supports adults with autism and related conditions. Now in its fourth season, the programme includes 10 structured walks in and around the Somerset landscape. Each themed session begins with a brief look at a photobook or publication to generate ideas and get participants discussing ideas and knowledge of the landscape we are going to walk in.
Initially conceived as a way of getting participants back outdoors after lockdown, the groups interest in photography grew as we progressed through the first season. Friendships within the group began to blossom, and as confidence grew we decide to publish a selection of the work, collaborating on the production of a photobook.
